WHY IS SALVATION IMPORTANT?

Salvation is the greatest decision of our lives. It is the choice between spending an eternity with God or an eternity separated from Him. God loves us, and sent His Son, Jesus, to die on the cross as a sacrifice, atoning for our sins. God desires that no one perish, but that all should come to repentance.

WHAT MUST I DO
TO BE SAVED?

Receiving the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Savior is as easy as A-B-C!

A. Admit that you are a sinner in need of God.

You must realize that you are a sinner, and deserve punishment for that sin, and that only through the Grace of God can you ever have atonement for that sin. (Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23)

B. Believe that Jesus died and rose again for your sins.

The next step after admitting that you're a sinner is believing that Jesus died on the cross as a sacrifice for your sins, and that three days later, Jesus conquered death, arose from the dead, ascended to Heaven and now sits at the right hand of God the Father. (Romans 5:8, Romans 10:13)

C. Confess Jesus as Lord of your life.

Finally, you must realize the Jesus is standing at the door of your heart, asking to come in. Accept him as your Savior and confess him as Lord of your life and He will come into your life and save you. (Revelation 3:20a, Romans 10:9-10)

WHAT IS YOUR MISSION STATEMENT?

We strongly adhere to the Great Commission as presented by the Lord Jesus Christ, so we have adopted touching lives at home and around the world as our mission statement. We strongly believe in home and foreign missions, evangelism, discipleship, and fellowship and work hard to minister to each of those needs.

WHAT DO YOU BELIEVE
ABOUT THE BIBLE?

We believe that the Holy Bible was written by men supernaturally inspired; that it has truth without any admixture of error for its matter; and therefore is, and shall remain to the end of the age, the only complete and final revelation of the will of God to man; the true center of Christian union and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and opinions should be tried.

1. By "The Holy Bible" we mean that collection of sixty-six books, from Genesis to Revelation, which, as originally written does not only contain and convey the Word of God, but IS the very Word of God.

2. By "inspiration" we mean that the books of the Bible were written by holy men of old, as they were moved by the Holy Spirit, in such a definite way that their writings were supernaturally and verbally inspired and free from error, as no other writings have ever been or ever will be inspired.

WHAT DO YOU BELIEVE
ABOUT GOD?

We believe that there is one, and only one, living and true God, an infinite, intelligent Spirit, the maker and supreme ruler of heaven and earth; inexpressibly glorious in holiness and worthy of all possible honor, confidence and love; that in the unity of the Godhead there are three persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost, equal in every divine perfection, and executing distinct but harmonious offices in the great work of redemption.

WHAT DO YOU BELIEVE
ABOUT JESUS?

We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten of the Holy Ghost in a miraculous manner; born of Mary, a virgin, as no other man was ever born or can ever be born of a woman, and that He is both, the Son of God, and God, the Son. We also believe that Jesus lived a perfect life here on Earth and offered himself up to a death on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins, thereby paving the way to salvation for all who receive Him as Savior.

WHAT DO YOU BELIEVE
ABOUT THE HOLY SPIRIT?

We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine person; equal with God the Father and God the Son and of the same nature; that He was active in the creation; that in His relation to the unbelieving world He restrains the evil one until God's purpose is fulfilled; that He convicts of sin, of judgment and of righteousness; that He bears witness to the Truth of the Gospel in preaching and testimony; that He is the agent in the New Birth; that He seals, endues, guides, teaches, witnesses, sanctifies and helps the believer.

WHY IS BAPTISM
IMPORTANT?

We believe that Christian baptism is the immersion in water of a believer, in the name of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, with the authority of the local church, to show forth in a solemn and beautiful emblem our faith in the crucified, buried and risen Savior, with its effect in our death to sin and resurrection to a new life.

WHEN SHOULD I
BE BAPTIZED?

We believe that one should be baptized following their acceptance of Christ as Savior. We do not believe that baptism has saving power, as saving power rests in Christ alone, thus we do not believe in infant baptism. However, we do believe that baptism is an ordinance that all believers should follow in, and that it is a public declaration of their faith in Jesus Christ.

WHY THE
LORD'S SUPPER?

The Lord's Supper is a sanctified church ordinance in which the members of the church, by the sacred use of bread and the fruit of the vine are to commemorate together the dying love of Christ; preceded always by solemn self-examination. We believe in a closed-communion and thus only members of the church may partake in the Lord's Supper, which is why we hold the Lord's Supper on an off night of the week.

The nursery is operated by loving, faithful members of the church and is a safe, positive environment for your young children. If you do decide to bring your children into services and they get a little fussy (which we understand all children do from time to time) we have a cry room available so that you can take care of the needs of your child and still hear the service.

For preschool to 6th grade we offer Children's Church during the Sunday morning services. Children's Church offers a high-energy, Bible-based learning experience tailored specifically to children.

WHICH TRANSLATION OF
THE BIBLE DO YOU USE?

Here at Temple Baptist Church, we believe that services should be as confusion-free as possible, and that teaching from multiple translations can really add confusion rather than free us from it, so we officially use and encourage the use of the King James Version of the Bible.

HOW DO I JOIN
THE CHURCH?

There are three ways to join the church.

The first is by baptism. If you will receive Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and Lord and follow Him in Baptism by immersion, we welcome you into our fellowship.

Second is transfer of letter from another Baptist church. As a Baptist, whose church membership is elsewhere, should God direct you here, we will be pleased to welcome you into our church family. We will happily take care of the appropriate details for transferring your membership.

Third is by statement of faith. In the event that church membership records are not available from another Baptist church for transfer of membership, we will accept you into our fellowship based on your statement of faith.
